Working on my bio. Any and all feedback would be appreciated :)


Erica (Baker) Blair was born and raised in Higgins Lake, MI and went to school in the small town of Roscommon, MI. She spent several years living and working in Marquette, MI. Ms. Blair escaped the Michigan winters for a short time while living in Exning, England. She is currently residing in Troy, MI.

She has an Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Textile Design from Kirtland Community College in Roscommon, MI graduating with Honors. Erica's poetry has been published in several literary magazines including Controlled Burn, The White Pine Review and Northern Lights. Currently, Erica is working as a freelance writer for Michigan Movie Magazine.

Erica also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI graduating on the Dean's List with a 3.75 GPA. Erica worked in several galleries and at the Upper Peninsula Children's Museum as the Art Director in Marquette, MI. Specializing in mixed media artwork, photography and painting, Ms. Blair's artwork has been shown in numerous shows in multiple galleries. The majority of her artwork has long been sold. 

She has been modeling for over 10 years as she moved from creating the image and object to embodying it. Most recently she was seen strutting down the catwalk in the 2010 Detroit Fashion Week shows. Erica has been involved in theatre and dance since she was a small child studying tap, ballet, jazz and modern dance but eventually leaving her formal studies for the sirens song of jam bands while she explored her theories of integrated improvisational movement. 

Erica started her film acting career on several early episodes of Lee Martin's Midnight Hour. Since then she has worked on several indie productions including The Night of the Loup Garou, Demonic Baby, Type, Perspectives (People's Choice Award: Saginaw Riverside Film Festival), The Fall of the Sparrow (Winner: Detroit Windsor International 48 Hour Film Festival)  and Last Call. She has also worked as crew member  as Head Wardrobe Designer on The Fall of the Sparrow, Side Effects (Scallywag Productions) , Asphyxia (Broken Butterfly Productions) and as a Hair and Make-up Stylist on Side Effects and Demonic Baby. You can also see her on the music video "New Day" from The Banana Convention.

She has also worked as an extra on Whip It!, Youth In Revolt, Demoted and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, Hung, Red Dawn, Detroit 187, LOL, Vamps, Real Steel, as well as being a featured extra on Trust, Alleged and One Last Call.
